Google honours madam Noor Jehan with a Google Doodle

21st September 2017, would have been Noor Jehan’s 91st birthday. To honor the day Google has dedicated a Google doodle in the legend’s memory.

Madam Noor Jehan,  also know as Malika-e-Tarannum (the queen of melody), was born on 21st September 1925 and has recorded over 18,000 songs in various languages of India and Pakistan.

Noor Jehan has been awarded many awards throughout her lifespan, including President’s Award by Ayub Khan (general) in 1965 for her acting and singing capabilities, due to which she was highly appreciated for singing patriotic songs during Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. Furthermore, she also received some of the highest Pakistani civilian awards like “Tamgha-e-Imtiaz” and “Sitara-e-Imtiaz”.

The Google doodle features Madam Noorjehan in a purple outfit, with a choker and the memorable flower on the side of her hair. The doodle has a great resemblance to her  Dildar Sadqay Lakh Waar Sadqay performance on PTV.

Moreover, the doodle was appreciated by Pakistan’s artists for the acknowledgment given by Google.
