Bollywood actress Sridevi has passed away after a cardiac arrest in Dubai on Saturday night. The news has come as a shock for millions of her fans and Bollywood personalities.
Sridevi’s brother-in-law Sanjay Kapoor has confirmed Sridevi’s death. According to close sources to the family, she was with her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi at the time of her death. The family was in Dubai at the time of Sridevi’s tragic death except for her elder daughter Janhvi who was in Mumbai.

Sridevi was widely regarded as the first superstar of Bollywood.
Sridevi was born on August 13, 1963, in Tamil Nadu. Her birth name was Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan. Her film career started at the age of 4 as a child star. She made her Bollywood debut as a child artist in hit Julie in the year 1975. Initially, she worked mostly in Tamil and Telugu movies.
Her Bollywood career debut came as a lead actress in Solva Sawan in 1978 followed by Mawaali and Himmatwala in 1983. She has been secretly married to Mithun Chakraborty after the two fell in love in 1984.
Sridevi kept away from the film industry for about 15 years before making a return in English Vinglish released in 2012. She received Padma Shri in 2013 and won five Filmfare Awards out of ten nominations.
Sridevi Kapoor along with her husband and younger daughter were in Dubai to attend Mohit Marwah’s wedding. She posted the following picture on Instagram on the day of Mohit Marwah’s wedding.
Sridevi has left behind two daughters Jhanvi and Khushi and husband Boney Kapoor whom she married in 1996.
