Bollywood superstar Kareena Kapoor Khan flew to Bangkok to shoot a television commercial for a Pakistan’s largest selling smartphone brand , QMobile directed by “Farooq Mannan”.Mrs Saif Ali Khan is endorsing QMobile’s flagship Noir Quadcore Z4.
The 33-year-old will feature in Pakistan’s most expensive mobile advertisement, which will be shot in Thailand and directed by Farooq Mannan, according to Hindustan Times. When asked if this was the most expensive ad to ever come out of Pakistan, QMobile’s Chief Marketing Officer Zeeshan Qureshi said, “I cannot say for the whole industry but yes, this is the most expensive from the mobile sector.”
Says the source, `Kareena has been paid the kind of money that the Pakistani entertainment industry can’t dream of doling out to their own models and actresses. Everything in the ad has been done with world-class technicians. This is the most expensive ad ever produced in Pakistan.`
Why Kareena? “
This isn’t QMobile’s first ad to feature a Bollywood star. The mobile company earlier signed actor Aditya Roy Kapoor, of Aashiqui 2 fame, as its Brand Ambassador, and the ad was much appreciated in Pakistan.
A source close to Kareena remarked on the actor’s interest in Pakistani advertising, that Kareena was unaware of Farooq Mannan and his directorial skills or his previous ventures, “Then she (Kareena) saw his latest ad for the same cellphone company that featured Iman Ali (Star of Pakistani International super hit Khuda Kay Liye) and thus, Kareena was bowled over.”
Reportedly, Farooq Mannan has also invited a Director of Production from New York.
Farooq Mannan has already directed several ads for the same brand including Aditya Roy kapoor’s ad.
